The Deepest Fresh Water lake in Sub Saharan Africa

                                                                               
Deep in the great lake region western part of the Great Rift Valley stand one of the deepest fresh water body of Lake Tanganyika,named after the Germany East Africa former colonial of Tanganyika.As a source of living of four Africa great regions countries of Tanzania on the eastward,DRC Congo on the western part,Republic of Zambia on the southern tip and the tiny central Africa republic of Burundi,these lake is over 600km long and has an area of 32,900 km's such that makes it the longest fresh water body in the Sub Saharan Africa and second biggest after lake Victoria in the great lake region.
It is blessed with over 300 specious,which are to the source of income for neighbour communities living a long the lake shores,fisherman's trade there catch in nearby trading centres like Kigoma on the side of Tanzania which is also one of the biggest transport link on these water body,other centres are on the shore of Zambia,Burundi and DRC Congo side.
Along the Kigoma side is where there is one of the public transport vessel plays the lakes routes and has been around since world war 1 currently known as MV Liembe.
Mv Liembe which was built in 1913 in Germany and transported to these Africa deepest fresh water lake is one of a must see when one visiting these lake,Its a boat which was used as a gun boat during world wars by then German east Africa to martial the entire lake,was known as "Graf von Goetzen" and currently as Mv liembe operating from the lake port of Kigoma on the shores of Tanzania side as a cargo and passenger ferry.Much has been said about these boat but Burundians respect it better as it played a big role in humanitarian effort during there civil wars by ferring some of its residents safely from the war areas,it can be 100yrs old boat but still on duty till today and travellers on these lake still use it to ferry them on the other parts of the lakes ports.
Besides these boat there are several isles within the lake and some national game parks around the lake like the Gombe stream national park in Kigoma region which is famous for Chimpanzees and cultural exploration of Kigoma communities living a long the shores of lake Tanganyika.
Just like we humans we have homes and here in Gombe its home to hundreds of Chimpanzees,located some 20kms from Kigoma township and its lays on the shores of these deepest and longest fresh water body in Sub Saharan Africa.
It's great to explore these park and learn how these creatures survive and communicate to each others,well trained guides are readily available to take one on the adventurer which is very interesting to experience,in these park too there a fall which used to be a cultural worship place and many lakeside fishermen visit it for ritual believe,it's great to once in Gombe one can to explore the immediately community culture artifacts and traditions,the park can be accessed from Kigomo and there accommodation available with all services.
Another amazing park on the shores of these lake is Mahale Mountains National Park,
These is a mazing park as one can only access it via boat or air,there is no roads around these park and visitors have to use identified routes to site seeing the wonders of Mahale mountain park which is one of the biggest Chimpanzees conservation area.To visit these lake and explore its environ one can simple fly from Julius Nyerere international airport in Dar es salaam to Kigoma airport along the shores of lake Tanganyika,here its easy to accessed the lake and explore its neighbour areas.It's worth to visit these area at any time of the year as its a relax and amazing natural attraction.
